Blah

I really wish i was anywhere but here. I'm getting sick of Indiana. There is really not much to do here in Kokomo. I need to get out of here as soon as possible. When i think about being here I always think of my tarot reading at Dody's. It must of been a sign.

Both my dad and sister are in Syria right now. I'm so jealous. I need some arabness.

My sister went with my grandma to Damascus to apply for a visa to the U.S. It'll be interesting to have my grandma here. I know what to expect. She'll be asking me when I'm going to settle down and get married. Not for a while grandma. Not for a while. There are sooooo many things I want do. I want to do a lot of traveling this year. I want to go visit Sarah in Turkey, go back and visit my family in Lebanon and Syria, go visit Eric, Faisal, Bader, and Ibrahim in Dubai, travel to Morocco, Jordan, and Tunisia, visit my aunt in Toronto, and go on a traineeship in Egypt. Hopefully, I'll be able to save some money before leaving so i can travel to all these places. I would love to visit all of the countries in the M.E. It would be very difficult going to Israel. I can't go to Lebanon and Syria if I have an Israeli stamp on my passport and if I have a Lebanese or Syrian stamp they won't let me in Israel. Hopefully, I'll be able to go there sometime in my life.

For some reason I'm expecting Egypt to be very similar to Lebanon and Syria. I guess its because i group arab culture in the same category. People are telling me that I'll be shocked to how different it is. Dania said she was surprised to how different it was. I need to go find out for myself. I remember how shocked I was when I went to Qatar and how different it was from Lebanon and Syria. This is the year for me to explore the Middle East and gain a greater understanding of different arab countries. If I could afford it I would travel to each country in the M.E. and North Africa. I've been told that culture in arab world can be categorized geographically. It's split up into the following 3 areas/subcultures: the gulf, the levant, and north africa. I wonder if thats true or if its a bunch of b.s. I'll just have to wait and see.

I think the categorization is somewhat true. Furthermore, you'll see EACH country is VERY different than the others. It's because each country used to have different languages, cultures, origins before the Arabic invasion to these lands.

Enjoy your trips :)
