Had a conversation earlier with a friend about about not knowing what a word means but knowing how to use them in context. There are so many arabic words i know how to use but i really don't know what the hell i'm saying.
Words I Don't Know
rahmakullah = you say it after someone sneezes and after they say alhamdullah and it has something to do with the soul (i could be wrong about the soul thing)
Nahiemen = you say after someone gets out of the shower or if they just got their haircut
kul amtu bi kair = equivalent to saying Eid Moubarak
wa inti bi kair = its what you say back to someone who just said kul amtu bi kair to you
Things I Need to Work On
1. Need to find the meanings of the above mentioned words
2. Need to improve on my writing arabic in english
3. Actually need to improve on writing my arabic in arabic
4. Need to improve my understanding of the egyptian dialect (so that i can have conversations with egyptians without having to say what 10 billion times...its not my fault they don't speak normal regular arabic...now i'm being culturally insensitive...sorry)
5. Need to learn the arabic words no one ever taught me (like government/political words and words having to do with male female relations (or sex)
