Home is where the heart is...

What have I been up to for the past month…well…a little of this and a little of that. I took off for Lebanon and Syria for six days. It was great to relax and be taken care of. Someone there to cook and do my laundry…ah…it was heaven. Oh and it was great to see the fam again. My sis the saint brought me my winter clothes with her. Thanks hon!!! I had forgotten how cold and rainy it gets there and the super super slow internet and the electricity going out and the family constantly around you not giving you space to breath, but then isn’t that what family is for. After I came back, I stuck around Cairo for a few days and then headed off to Dahab for New Years where I was a bum and did absolutely nothing but relax and party.

Being back in Egypt is awesome and right now I can’t imagine leaving this place. December meant a lot of goodbyes and January will bring another round. Hopefully after that, it will slow down a bit. I hate goodbyes.

It’s Jan. 6 and I still have yet to come up with some resolutions. I can happily say I did achieve one resolution from 2005 J Maybe this year I’ll be able to achieve 2. I guess time will only tell.

2006…
Eat some vegetables
See Egypt and do all the touristic things
Get over my fear of horseback riding
Learn how to read and write Arabic (It’s about time I did this...if I don’t do it while I’m here, I probably never will)
Blog more…yeah, I’m being a slacker
Stay in touch more with friends and family…I suck at this
Take some pictures…I need to remember bring my camera along…It’s sad how many pics I’ve taken here...I’m realizing that I never took any in Lebanon or Syria…Dania can you send me some pics from our trip.

So this blog was kind of random…expect more randomness in 2006.

hey nisrin about the fear of riding horses (i dont like riding them too i get kinda scared) but i find that getting on a camel is a lot easier!
going up & down is kinda scary but being up there is a lot better than being on a horse :) good luck! next time you come to go let me know, who knows maybe i can join you ;)
